Keypad Wiring

Please use telecom cable for wiring and it’s recommended to silicone between the back plate and the post to stop water and insects entering the rear of the keypad.
4 cables from the keypad to the gate opener:

Swing gate opener

  • Keypad COM: direct to gate opener control board terminal (P.SW) COM
  • Keypad NO: direct to gate opener control board (P.SW) side 1 if single or side 2 if double
  • Keypad +12v: D1 control board IR Beam Block +PWR
  • Keypad –GND: D1 control board IR Beam Block COM.

Tuning Standard Remotes
Remove the back panel of the remote that is already working to activate your gate. Match the new remote DIP setting to the current remote DIP switch setting. Each DIP switch has 3 positions (top, middle and bottom) care must be taken when setting each DIP switch.

TO PROGRAM REMOTES TO THE RECEIVER

  • With the power connected to the receiver, place a link over the RELAY pins
  • Press and hold the remote button that is to be programmed to the receiver.  Wait for the green light to flash quickly.
  • While pressing the button, place the second link over the REMOTE pins for two seconds (only) and then remove the link.
  • Release the remote button and remove the link from the RELAY pins.
  • When finished, place the link over 1 pin only

TO ERASE ALL REMOTES

  • With the power connected to the receiver, place a link over the ERASE pins.
  • The LED will flash ten times and then remain on solid.
  • Remove the link.

The remote buttons have now been erased from the receiver.

  • Receiver COM: direct to gate opener board (P.SW) COM
  • Receiver +12v: D1 control board IR Beam Block +PWR
  • Receiver – GND: D1 control board IR Beam Block COM.

TO PROGRAM REMOTES TO THE RECEIVER

  • Step 1: press and hold remote button that is to trigger the opener. It is important that this button is continuously held from step 1 through to step 3.
  • Step 2: place the jumper over the two LEARN pins on the PC Board for 2 seconds.
  • Step 3: remove the jumper from the two pins.
  • Step 4: release the button on the remote.
    That particular button on the remote is now programmed to the receiver.

TO ERASE ALL REMOTES

  • Step1: Place the jumper across the two ERASE pins
  • Step2: The LED will flash 4 times to warn you that the remotes will be erased after which the LED will stay solid red
  • Step 3: When the LED remains on solid, all the remotes have been erased

Light Relay

GUIDE TO LIGHT RELAY CONNECTION

D1 Arm gate Board has a 12VDC output on the Lamp Relay Terminal. Left terminal is negative and right is positive. This output is to energise an EXTERNAL 12VDC relay which in turn can be used to turn on /off a higher rating electrical item such as a Pillar Light. Warning: All 240v wiring MUST be done by a qualified electrical person.

1. Set Dip Switch [3] and [4] to OFF Position. Active for 1min.
2. Connect a 12VDC relay as is shown in Figure 1.

Note: D1 board is designed with a Lamp Photocell (bottom right side of D1 board), so that Lamp Relay can be activated only in a dark ambient environment.
Figure 2 below shows that the Lamp Relay is not activated in the Opening Cycle of the ARM (Green LED). This is due to the fact that the Lamp Photocell is exposed to significant lighting.
When connected to Pillar Lights, this design prevents the Pillar Light from turning ON during the Day.
If USER requires that the Pillar Lights be turned on, irrespective of the ambient lighting, use a Dark Tape to cover the Lamp Photocell or turn the Photocell inwards when mounted in the Control Box.

Typical placement of the Lamp Photocell is shown in Figure 4. Please note however, that due to the different lighting intensity, direction of lights, reflection etc in the Control Panel Box, it is possible that that Lamp Relay is activated even if the external ambient is significantly bright.

DIP 3 [ON], 4 [ON] == Lamp Deactivated (for solar setup power saving).
DIP 3 [ON], 4 [OFF] == Lamp Permanently ON. You can have your gate-pillar lights stay ON at night then turn OFF when sun comes up.
One method to verify of the LAMP output is ok, is to Set DIP #3 to [ON] and DIP #4 to [OFF] position. Power up the D1 board with the Backup Battery / Transformer Then cover the Lamp Photocell with a BLACK cover ensuring complete darkness at the photocell. (a marker pen cover closing the sensor is a suggestion)
The LED at the Lamp Relay should then Light Up.

Warning Light

SW1 Pins - Jumper on 2 pins light flashes - Jumper on 1 pin light remains on

Dip switches on main control board [3]ON [4]ON light is only activated when gate is moving

Note: The antenna is not used with any of BMGs products

GSM Module

Installation and Settings

  1. Ensure you have a registered sim card standard size.  It must be activated.
  2. Ensure your mobile number is not set to private or caller ID OFF as the unit won’t recognise the caller.
  3. Using your smart phone, scan the QR code located on the box that the gsm module was supplied in.  You may need to download a QR code scanner from the app store.
  4. Download the Gate Opener app.
  5. Insert activated sim card into the GSM module by removing screw holding down the black cap on the bottom of the gsm module.
  6. Secure antenna to GSM module.
  7. Power up GSM unit & connect trigger cables to the gate opener as per wiring shown
  8. Left red LED should start to flash, wait for the LED to flash slowly.
  9. Open Gate Opener app
  10. Click “Add Device”
  11. Create device name - e.g. Front Gate
  12. Enter in mobile number of sim card
  13. Enter 4 digit code 1234 and press ‘save’
  14. Text message screen will open with your 4 digit code & mobile number of sim card e.g. 1234 TEL 0400 000 000#  Now send this message to the GSM module to save your 4 digit code
  15. Open app, swipe from right to left to see second page.
  16. Click ‘Authorized Numbers’
  17. Tel SN - Store number to match agents mobile number - Tel No. enter phone number e.g. Tel SN - 001, Tel No - 0400 000 000
  18. Click ‘Yes’ for always can dial to control, click ‘Done’
  19. Click Green tick - Text message will appear e.g. 1234A001#0400000000 - send message - Repeat step 18 to add more numbers.  Once finished press ‘Back’
  20. To turn text message replies off to save phone credit - go to Relay ON/OFF SMS Alert.  Press Green Tick next to ‘Not Send SMS’ for Relay Close (on) and a text message will appear 1234GON## then send message.  Repeat for Relay Open (off) message will appear 1234GOFF## and then send text message.  Now you you will not receive any text messages.  You can set just one if you prefer to receive a text message for either Open or Closed.
  21. Change password - modify password.  Enter 4 digit code - press green tick.  Text message appears 1234P (new code)
  22. Call GSM Module to test unit.
